Manufacturing Plant Launches 418.6kW Solar Energy System
Our manufacturing plant at Vitaquest International, the world's leading custom manufacturer of nutritional products, has launched a 418.6 kilowatt (kW) solar energy system at its corporate headquarters in New Jersey. The project installed by Mays Landing New Jersey-based Mercury Solar Systems.
Keith Frankel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vitaquest commented, “Environmental sustainability and human health are two critical areas for our company. The size and scale of this solar energy system will enable us to offset significant portion of our building’s electricity needs resulting in over $3.5Million in savings over the life of the system.”
Howard Munk, President of Windmill Health Products noted that, “We are pleased that Vitaquest has taken this step toward reducing usage of fossil fuels and improving our environment. We are pleased to be able to have a conscientious supplier right here in the United States supplying us with the vast majority of our products.”
The 1,820 panel system will produce enough energy to power over 35 average size residential homes every year. This is equivalent to recycling over 8 million cans of soda, planting 30,000 trees and taking 52 cars off the road every year.
